Hi everyone,
It's been a while since my last newsletter. Not for lack of material. But I’ve been busy with clients.
Three and a half years in, my consultancy is buzzing and my pipeline is strong. I get to do the work I want to do. Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen.
I clearly have the entrepreneurial bug. Here’s what I’m starting.
The question I keep getting
New or aspiring consultants always ask me the same thing: "So, how'd you do it?"
The honest answer: late nights, too much coffee, and a few missteps I've rebranded as "pivots."
Comms pros are experts at building brands. But most of us have no idea how to build our own consultancy.
When I started in 2023, I knew how to develop a core narrative and map audiences for brands, from Fortune 500s to startups. I couldn't tell you what an S-Corp was.
My husband thought I was crazy, and that I was spending way too much time on LinkedIn. Early on, I had doubts too.
Doing the work wasn’t the hard part. Setting up the business was. There was no playbook, and it cost me a year I didn't need to lose.
So we're building the playbook
Chris Gee and I are creating the course we wish we'd had. Chris ran digital at Edelman and knows his stuff on AI.
It's called OFF RAMP.

Six weeks to short circuit the business side of consulting: positioning, pricing, personal brand, proposals, pipeline, and the imposter syndrome nobody warns you about. AI runs throughout the course.
Before we launch, we're listening
We're not writing the curriculum and hoping it lands. Tell us what you want to learn.
→ Take our three-minute survey.
Here’s how you can help:
If you're thinking about starting your own thing, take the survey.
If you know someone who is, forward this to them.
If you just want to catch up, drop me a note. I’d like that.
Good to be back.
